General Description:
The Preconstruction Manager will build strategic relationships and business opportunities with commercial and industrial clients seeking concrete construction services. This job entails preparing cost estimates by analyzing project specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements and submitting bid proposals to our customers. This position includes complete ownership of the project budget and full communication with the Operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, implement, and refine new business development and preconstruction processes to ensure proper backlog of work
- Effectively manage bid strategy, bid estimates, accuracy of estimates, client negotiations, and turnover process
- Lead constructability reviews and value engineering during design development
- Develop conceptual and schematic-level budgets with owners, architects, and engineers
- Assist buyout and ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to operations
- Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services
- Prepare and manage our teams to execute by understanding project details and customer expectations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction for a large scale self-perform general contractor or concrete contractor
- Strong business development background and construction market knowledge
- Ability to work independently and multitask to meet deadlines
- Desire to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced, inclusive work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Current valid driver’s license and pre-employment drug screen
